THE LION PARK
Occasionally one has the opportunity to work whilst at the same time have an enjoyable time is a rather special environment. This happened a couple of weeks ago when we were asked to come to site to investigate the possibility of installing a wireless mesh at the Lion Park.
It was really a fun day going from point to point checking connectivity. Seeing Hyena, Wild Dog, Lion and a very friendly giraffe and was rather surreal seeing the high rise Sandton building in the distance whilst hearing Lions roar. It was also interesting seeing the number of tourists visiting the Lion Park, great for the Park and the tourism business in general. The tourists appeared to enjoy the experience and were really excited to see the Lion and Giraffe.
The reason for VBX being there was to check the connectivity for our Mesh, the idea being that the photographer using a camera with a wireless facility, as an example, a photo with the tourist with Lion Cubs, this then gets downloaded onto the Mesh and from there onto a high resolution Epson Printer. The tourist then has the opportunity to purchase the photo immediately reaching the kiosk.
Next will be some testing and then for the installation of the system in the next few weeks. So hopefully there will be another thrilling installment!
